Versa Easel

The versa easel got its name from being so versatile. It can be used in different positions for various purposes such as supporting books, communication displays, and pictures.

Materials:

  • 15” lengths of 1/2” CPVC pipe (available at hardware and building supply stores)
  • 10” lengths of 1/2” CPVC pipe
  • 5” lengths of 1/2” CPVC pipe
  • 4 1/2” lengths of 1/2” CPVC pipe
  • 1 1/2” lengths of 1/2” CPVC pipe
  • CPVC T-joints
  • CPVC Elbow joints
  • PVC Cement

Instructions:
  • Take on 15” length of pipe and attach an elbow joint to each end with the open ends facing the same directions.
  • Insert two 10” lengths of pipe into the open ends of the elbow joints.
  • Place two more elbow joints on each of the open ends of the 10” pipes. These two elbow joints should be facing the same direction and should be rotated 90 degrees from the direction of the first two elbows.
  • Place the two 1 1/2” lengths of pipe in the open ends of the two new elbow joints.
  • Place a t-joint on each of the 1 1/2” pipes with the open ends facing each other.
  • Place a 15” pipe in the two ends of the t-joints that are facing each other.
  • Place two 5” pipes in the other ends of the t-joint.
  • Place a t-joint on each end of the 5” pipes with open ends facing each other.
  • Place a 15” pipe in the two ends of the t-joints that are facing each other
  • Place two 4 1/2” pipes in the other ends of the t-joint.
  • Place the two remaining elbow joints on the ends of the 4 1/2” pipes with open ends facing each other.
  • Put the remaining 15” pieces in the last elbow joints.
  • Clean CPVC joints with CPVC primer
  • Glue together with PVC Cement.
